SOAR Housing

All students are required to stay on campus overnight during the SOAR program. Students and parents/family members are housed in separate buildings. Students will be assigned roommates for the night to facilitate meeting future classmates. Students are asked not to bring personal guests (other than family members) to the SOAR program. Parents/family members have the option of staying in a suite style residence hall.

Student Roommates at SOAR
Students wishing to room with a friend at Summer SOAR may do so only as long as both students are eligible to attend the same SOAR session. Students wishing to room together should check in together at SOAR in order to be assigned the same room.

Students or parents requiring special needs for housing accommodations (strobe fire alarms, wheelchair accessible facilities, disabled parking, etc.) should make a note on their online SOAR Reservation Form indicating their specific needs.

Since parents/family members and students stay in different residence halls, separate luggage for students and parents is recommenced. Bringing alarm clocks is also recommended. Single parents should be aware that they will have a single room sleeping accommodation but will share a suite with another single parent of the same gender. The suites have separate sleeping areas, yet share common living and bath areas.

If two parents (or additional family members) attend, they will have a suite including separate bedrooms, common living and bath areas.

All housing accommodations are completely furnished. Towels, bed linens, soap and a pillow are provided. Bringing an extra blanket is advisable since the rooms are air conditioned. Keep in mind that because these rooms are residence halls, there will be no telephone or television in your room.
